Things “Skinny” riders say to Big Girl Cowgirls…..and what they REALLY Mean
“That’s a really nice saddle, what size is it?” …“I didn’t realize they made saddles that big”
“THAT’S your horse?”… “You are too BIG for your horse”
“WOW, your horse is strong!”… “I’m surprised that poor horse is still upright with your fat ass sitting on him.”
“Whoa, 5 miles? That’s a long ride.”… “And you think that horse is gonna carry you that far?”
“I’m sorry, we don’t have a lesson horse for you to use” … “You are NOT sitting your fat ass on any of my lesson horses!
“Oh…YOU want to learn to jump?”…”You gotta be KIDDING ME! What type of horse is going to clear a cross rail with you on their back?!
“I didn’t realize they made boots that wide.”…”Holy S%*t I could fit half my body inside that boot shaft!”
“YOU ride?”…“I’d like front row tickets to see that show.”
OKAYYYYYY so I know not ALL non-fat equestrians think such awful things about us Big Girl Cowgirls. Most people are kind and supportive but there’s always those few jerks who toss out a comment so sarcastic and snide that it makes me want to ask my horse to kick them in the teeth! And wouldn’t that be nice?
XOXO

I have put in an application to adopt a rescue draft horse ~~~~54 years young an I am finally trying to make a life long dream come true. Due to health issues i am partially in a wheelchair an over weight. So this is a 2fer I will form a life long bond with a four legged companion who will be spoied and loved to pieces. And yes even before when i took lessons i would get “those” glances” like What are you doing on a horse
